Atlas- Vintage Boujaad Rug
Atlas- Each piece that I hand select during my sourcing trips reminds me of a feeling or a place. This low pile vintage boujaad piece reminded me of traveling through the Atlas mountains of Morocco. The color tones in this rug are a mix between dark browns and black reminding me how the mountains change through each region.
ABOUT MOROCCAN RUGS: Moroccan rugs are hand woven by Berber women of the tribal region specified. Each rug can take a few months to year to complete. The weaving techniques have been passed down through the generations. From modern designs to vintage abstract form this is a way the Berber women carefully preserve their heritage of technique and knowledge passing down messages in wool from one generation to another creating textiles full of life and charm. Imsaal- Meaning Unique, one of a kind and that is what makes each Moroccan piece special. With the uniqueness of each piece that I hand select during my sourcing trips it reminds me just how creative and talented each of the artisans truly are. This vintage piece name fits as it is truly one of a kind and will fit perfect in a living room, dining room or pretty much anywhere in the house. The woman who made this pieces has weaved woman figures and other knotted symbols of protection (evil eye) throughout this perfectly faded red piece.

Cote Bougie works with a women cooperative in Essaouira who help with the hand-weaving of raffia candle vessels. This enables them to work together in producing and selling their handiwork.

Each of these beautiful pieces are found and hand select by me during my sourcing trips throughout Morocco. This newly made piece was designed by Afous Ghoufous, or hand in hand Cooperative a village outside of the city of Ouarzazate in southern Morocco. I began working with the ladies here at the cooperative in early 2019 after a sourcing trip to Ouarzazate. All proceeds from purchases go directly to the weaver and the group fund in order to build more space and programs for other women to work. In this region, they use natural wool and dyes from Turmeric and pomegranate skin to create beautiful shades of yellow. Also, onion or hibiscus to create the shades of pinks and reds to Pine used to create the shades of brown

The name Palo Santo means “Holy Wood” is a natural wood know for it’s aromatic incense used for centuries by the Incas and indigenous people of the Andes as a spiritual remedy for purifying and cleansing. Palo Santo has been used for thousands of years in Peru and Ecuador by shamans and healers and it is often used for luck, to get rid of evil spirits and misfortune. It has a fine citrus aroma with underlying notes of frankincense, its close relative. This Palo Santo is sustainably wild harvested from Ecuador from naturally fallen trees and branches that lie dead for 4-10 years before they are harvested. Light your Palo Santo during your bath to cleanse the energy in your space and invoke relaxation and peace for your mind and body. Directions: Bath tea can be made in a few ways; add desired amount to muslin bag and hang under hot running bath or add herbs and salts directly to bath water or steep it in simmering water on the stove for 10 minutes before pouring the sachet and the hot tea water into a hot bath. Each of these beautiful pieces are found and hand select by me during my sourcing trips throughout Morocco. This piece is from the region call Taznakht in southern Morocco that I visit often because of the beautiful desert and feeling of home that this region brings. Using natural wool and dyes from Saffron and Turmeric to create beautiful shades of yellow and onion or hibiscus to create the shades of pinks.
This piece is a mix of Yellow, pink and browns showing the weavers free spirit as the pattern is one I have never seen before.
