In the Berber language, Tamegroute means ‘last place before the desert’. The color and texture is a result of the particular alchemy created by the potters of Tamegroute and remains a family affair handed down through the generations as each pottery piece is completely unique and no two are ever the same.

Each of these beautiful pieces are found and hand select by me during my sourcing trips throughout Morocco. This newly made Beni Ourain Rug is Handwoven from pure undyed Wool by women in the villages of the Middle Atlas Mountain Region in Moroccan. Beni Ourain rug densely hand-knotted with a background in natural ivory and in a traditional diamond patterned design.
ABOUT MOROCCAN RUGS:
Moroccan rugs are hand woven by Berber women of the tribal region specified. Each rug can take a few months to year to complete. The weaving techniques have been passed down through the generations. From modern designs to vintage abstract form this is a way the Berber women carefully preserve their heritage of technique and knowledge passing down messages in wool from one generation to another creating textiles full of life and charm.
