Handmade Habitat is an all natural soy candle and beauty goods DC based company for slow, mindful living.

They are inspired by nature and rooted in mindfulness and the work is consciously hand crafted to be healthy for the body, home and Mother Earth.

DOMESTIC SHIPPING

All domestic orders are shipped USP and do require SIGNATURE for all items upon delivery. If you need a rug to get to you faster than ground shipping please email us at hello@SoukandSoul.com and we will get you a custom shipping quote. All orders are shipped within 5-7 business days from the time the payment and shipping information is received. Once the order is shipped, you will receive an email confirmation with the tracking number.

After the package is delivered to your door step, Souk & Soul is not responsible to what happens to it from that point forward. If you would like to set up signature confirmation, you may do that yourself after you receive the tracking information.

Vintage Taznahkt

Each of these beautiful pieces are found and hand select by me during my sourcing trips throughout Morocco. This piece is from the region call Taznakht  in southern Morocco that I visit often because of the beautiful desert and feeling of home that this region brings.  Using natural wool and dyes from Saffron and Turmeric to create beautiful shades of yellow and onion or hibiscus to create the shades of pinks.

This piece is a mix of Yellow, pink and browns showing the weavers free spirit as the pattern is one I have never seen before. You will also noticed the weaver placed mini rugs into her design showing that  Taznakht  carpets are a real works of Moroccan art ABOUT MOROCCAN RUGS: Moroccan rugs are hand woven by Berber women of the tribal region specified. Each rug can take a few months to year to complete. The weaving techniques have been passed down through the generations. From modern designs to vintage abstract form this is a way the Berber women carefully preserve their heritage of technique and knowledge passing down messages in wool from one generation to another creating textiles full of life and charm. Marrakech- Boujaad Rug

Marrakesh- Each piece that I  hand select during my sourcing trips reminds me of a feeling or a place. This piece  reminded me of the Pink and Peach walls that are found in Marrakesh. The color tones change back and forth depending on the the time of the day and how the sun hits the wall and I find the same happens in this thick and plush Boujaad runner.

Tamegroute is a village located in the Draa River valley in southern Morocco, just before the immense Sahara. In the Berber language, Tamegroute means ‘last place before the desert’. The color and texture is a result of the particular alchemy created by the potters of Tamegroute and remains a family affair handed down through the generations as each pottery piece is completely unique and no two are ever the same.

Tamegroute pottery are true showpieces showing that even imperfect can be perfect. Please note that the traditional method in which the plates are fired involves stacking which result in tiny 'scars' in the glaze making each plate unique.
